On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a bill that cracks down on Airbnb hosts, threatening to fine them up to $7,500 for advertising illegal rentals. Airbnb immediately filed a complaint in federal court to prevent the law from taking effect. Airbnb claims that the law violates the First Amendment rights of the company and its hosts, as well as the Communications Decency Act of 1996.
