In the mid-80’s, the number of college graduates who were women was at an all-time high of 37%. In recent years, that number has experienced a downward spiral to 18%(2014). It is the Anita Borg institute and the Grace Hopper Foundation who work to reverse the downward trend of women in computing.  The “Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing” is renowned as one of the key events and gatherings for women in tech. The event is held by the Anita Borg Institute; the institute’s CEO and President is Dr. Telle Whitney. In an interview with Time Magazine, Dr. Whitney discusses the trends, debates, and nuances of women in technology.
