Due to launch on Saturday morning, September 3rd, Facebook's first satellite was destroyed during an explosion on Thursday morning. The goal of the satellite was to bring internet access to developing countries and was one of the first implementations of Facebook's new initiative: Internet.org. Zuckerberg has expressed his disappoint in regards to the destruction of the satellite, however, many speculate that this setback will not deter his long-term plan.
