Waverly Labs’ new smart piece, Pilot, is a real-time universal language translator. If the plan for the product is successful, the ability to understand foreign languages will be revolutionized. The earpiece essentially cancels out surrounding noises to focus on what the speaker is saying. Simultaneously, the speech is directed to a complementary application that translates it. The difference between Pilot and already existing translating applications like ITranslate and Google Translate is the fact that it is instantaneous. The product is predicted to release in the May of 2017 for $199, including two earpieces, a portable charger, and three ear tips.
