Why the Bechdel test doesn’t (always) work

The Bechdel test is the ultimate gender equality test for movies. It's simple: if a movie has even one conversation where two women are talking about anything but a man, it passes. More movies than you expect fail, and vice versa. Sadly, some hardcore feminists will watch movies based solely off the Bechdel test, which is a shame because movies like Twilight pass while Gravity (with heroine Sandra Bullock for almost 90 minutes) fails. The message is: don't make decisions off of only one characteristic, gather as much information as possible.
