What the Fitbit lawsuit means for clinical researchers

Fitbit has revolutionized the wearable tech industry with its sleek wristbands and addictive numerals about the user's health. However, a study at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, concludes that the Fitbit's sensors can be off. Way off. Up to 20 beats per minute off. Fitbit is involved in a class action law suit as a result, and other health tech companies (wearable and non-wearable) should be wary not to repeat. It's worth noting that Fitbit is not necessarily crooked as it is still early in the legal process.
