Therefore, top retail companies are aiming to hire more women to apart of their tech teams. Brands who cater to women, such as Kate Spade and Sephora, have joined with "Girls Who Code" as a part of their summer immersion program.

Known for their medicine and computer chips, Israel still remains heavily male-dominated in terms of who finances projects, but it's assuring to see the gender gap closing across the world.

Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube blocked in Turkey during reported coup attempt

The Turkish government blocked access for ninety minutes to all three media giants in response to a coup in Istanbul and Ankara. Instagram and Vimeo were unblocked. The U.S. government took notice, and alerted Americans with relatives in Turkey to contact those in Europe by email or text.
